The Swingy Thingy (A Media Controller)
The Swingy ThingyTM media controller was born out of the imaginations of Matt Ganucheau, Molly Schwartz and I. It originally started out as a sort of reverse zoetrope, having the user walk around the controller and moving the sound and video along with him or her. After much debate of what content to use and [...]
Visualizing Data…the beginning of the end

Last.fm…the final frontier. Well…just the final. Last.fm has a ton of data available from albums and artists to users and events. The messy web that could wind up being created from their API is both exciting and frightening.

After finishing this up, I think I need to go in a completely different direction. I would probably never use this as a real business card, but I think this is a vast improvement over the original.
A Bit of Logo Design

After looking through a good number of logos, including two of the masters, Saul Bass and Paul Rand, I decided that Joe Finocchiaro’s logo work seems to truly catch my eye for design. A lot of his work involves updating print logos for digital use. The type used in his logos are very clean, making [...]
The Grass is Always Greener…when it’s not so windy

Using Yahoo Weather, I took the wind speed and direction and made it into something a little easier to understand. I made some blades of grass and some wind trails. It’s definitely in progress and needs a bit of work, but I think it’s a good demonstration. There’s one weird glitch where if the number [...]
